Basic Bariquin -A Bariquin is a 25st/350lb/159kg Bariatric (Obese-sized) Training Mannequin

A Bariquin, or ‘Barry’ as he is known, is a bariatric training mannequin that weighs 25 stones (that’s 350lbs or 159kgs), yet he can be carried by an individual -when not assembled. (Clothing bought seperately)

Bariquins overcome the disadvantages that current mannequins have. They don’t require a team of trained people to haul the mannequin to and from the training area. Neither do they need filling with water (and emptying) in situ. Also, the price of the Bariquin will soon be recouped compared to when using a real life model -and Barry won’t get tired or embarrassed during training.

Such instruction is often delivered by a single trainer and the Bariquin has been designed around this central principle. Barry is made up of 15 weighted parts, a jacket plus the realistic looking head, hands and feet. His heaviest component is designed to be less than 16kgs -that’s much less than the weight of your flight suitcase. And with two handles stitched securely to the more substantial parts, they are easier to carry too.

What’s more, he’s been created and built in Britain and comes with a 12 months guarantee against material defects in design, material and workmanship. There’s also a 14 days returns policy.

  • Revenue can be earned by providing training to others
  • The price of the mannequin will soon be recouped compared to using a real life model
  • More complex scenarios can be practised
  • New techniques can be devised, designing out any risks involved
  • Complicated concepts can be practised before carrying out the actual removal of a real person in an evacuation or other scenario
  • Emergency evacuation drills can be practised
  • Reduced time spent attending incidents due to better training
  • Fewer staff members required to deal with those incidents
  • The Bariquin is simple to put together in under 10 minutes, then disassemble after use
  • Transportation of this 25 stone mannequin is no longer an issue and does not require the use of lifting equipment (when not assembled)
  • The risk of injury to staff during day-to-day duties and to the real life model during training is reduced or avoided
  • The embarrassment and reluctance of staff to manually handle a real life model will be significantly reduced
  • Staff will be able to repeatedly practice as often as they are able to
  • The session will not be affected on the real life model becoming tired or breathless
  • Unique assembly system allows for scenarios where the Bariquin has 1 or more half limbs or limbs removed to simulate the amputee patient
  • Reduction in staff sickness due to back injuries
  • Less need for provision of cover for staff on sick leave
  • Reduce the risk of litigation for your organisation
  • Ad hoc training can be undertaken, when time allows, to develop staff skills and knowledge
